On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, together with the Graduate Student Union of Mahidol University, organized a mangrove forest and coastal resource conservation activity under the project “MANGROVE BY MAN KIND: Restoring Coastal Ecosystems for a Sustainable Future” at the Khlong Khon Mangrove Forest Conservation Center, Samut Songkhram Province.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Thanakrit Neamhom, Department of Environmental Health Sciences, Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, and the project advisor, delivered the opening remarks and led participants in various environmental activities, including beach clean-up, waste separation activities, and mangrove planting, in support of coastal ecosystem restoration and environmental awareness. Prior to the onsite activity, participants also attended an online special lecture entitled “Waste and Resource Management for Sustainability in the Era of Climate Change” on Friday, May 22, 2026, to enhance their understanding of sustainable environmental and resource management.
The project was organized to raise awareness of the causes, impacts, and solutions related to climate change, while promoting knowledge and understanding of sustainable waste and resource management. The activity also encouraged participants to apply environmental awareness and sustainable practices in their daily lives and within the university community.
In addition, the project supported learning in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 14: Life Below Water, and Goal 15: Life on Land. The activity also promoted Environmental Literacy as an essential soft skill among graduate students. A total of 65 participants, including graduate students, alumni, and Mahidol University staff, joined the activity.
