On 20–21 June 2026, the Graduate Student Union of Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University (MUGR), organized the MU GRAD Multi-Cultural Trip in Phetchaburi Province. Assistant Professor Dr. Sineewanlaya Wichit, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Networking Development and Student Affairs, delivered the opening remarks. On this occasion, Mr. Phanom Chuemchit, Deputy Mayor of Khao Yoi Subdistrict Municipality, together with staff from the Khao Yoi Thai Song Dam Cultural Center and local Thai Song Dam wisdom instructors, warmly welcomed participants and shared valuable cultural knowledge and experiences throughout the program.
In addition, participants had the opportunity to visit several historical and cultural learning sites, including Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park (Khao Wang), the Thai Song Dam Cultural Center, Tham Khao Luang Cave, and Uncle Thanom’s Palm Orchard. They also took part in various local wisdom learning activities, such as traditional handicraft weaving, Thai dessert making, and learning about the lifestyle and cultural heritage of the Thai Song Dam community. The program also featured the “Night Multicultural Party,” which provided an opportunity for students from different countries to exchange cultures through performances, traditional attire, and friendship-building activities.
The project was organized to strengthen relationships among Thai and international postgraduate students while promoting cultural exchange and intercultural understanding through exposure to the local way of life, traditional wisdom, and the unique cultural heritage of Phetchaburi Province. The program also supported learning related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhanced Communication Skills and Language Skills, which are among the essential competencies for postgraduate students. Furthermore, it encouraged mutual understanding, respect for diversity, and the ability to live harmoniously in a multicultural society. A total of 63 Thai and international postgraduate students participated in the program.
