On Monday, 10 November 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University (MUGR), had a visit to Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) and Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, to discuss and expand academic collaboration opportunities.
The delegation was led by Professor Dr. Chartchalerm Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, and included Assistant Professor Dr. Ornlatcha Sivarak, Deputy Dean for Education and Academic Development, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sineewanlaya Wichit, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Networking, and Student Affairs. Joining the discussions were representatives from several Mahidol University institutions including the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, and the National Institute for Child and Family Development.
The meeting with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, led by Professor SHEN Minghao, Vice President of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, focused on promoting academic cooperation in the fields of Linguistics, Language and Intercultural Communication, Thai Studies, and Information and Communication Technology. The discussion also covered potential collaboration in various forms, including student exchange programs, joint degree programs, scholarship opportunities, and joint research initiatives.
Meanwhile, the meeting with Sun Yat-sen University, led by Associate Professor Chun Hao, Executive Deputy Director of the Sun Yat-sen Global Health Institution, together with Professor Xianfeng Ma, Deputy Director for Trainong and Quality Management, Graduate School และ Ms. Li Li, Educator, International Exchange Affairs, Training and Quality Management Division, Graduate School, focused on developing academic collaboration in Global Health and Public Health. Both parties discussed opportunities for cooperation through initiatives such as health promotion network, student and staff mobility programs, scholarship support, and joint research projects.
In addition, Mahidol University and both universities explored potential approaches and opportunities to expand cooperation into other academic areas of mutual interest, aiming to strengthen academic collaboration between Mahidol University and higher education institutions in China with continuity and comprehensive engagement in teaching, research, and academic exchange in the future.
