On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, organized the “MUGR x SLU Mini Open House 2026: Explore Graduate Studies in Pharmacy at Mahidol University” in collaboration with Saint Louis University (SLU), Philippines. The online event aimed to promote graduate study opportunities in Pharmacy at Mahidol University while providing international students with direct access to information regarding postgraduate education, research opportunities, scholarships, and student life at the university. The event attracted approximately 100 participants, particularly undergraduate students from various institutions across the Philippines and other countries, through Zoom.
The program commenced with welcome remarks by Prof. Dr. Chartchalerm Isarankura Na Ayudhya, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, followed by opening remarks delivered by Mr. Aldrex B. Dacawe, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, Allied Health, and Biological Sciences, Saint Louis University. The opening session continued with a special lecture entitled “Microneedle Technology for Advanced Transdermal Drug Delivery” presented by Mr. Artney Gacutan Kitongan, an M.Sc. student in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics) at Mahidol University. The lecture introduced innovative approaches in transdermal drug delivery systems and highlighted current research developments in pharmaceutical sciences.
The program continued with the session “Mahidol Program Spotlight: Graduate Programs in Pharmacy” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies and Information Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, who introduced Pharmacy graduate programs and academic opportunities available to international students. The event also included “Shared Experiences: MUGR Academics and Beyond” presented by Mr. Rey B. Oronan, a Ph.D. student in Veterinary Science at Mahidol University, together with Mr. Artney Gacutan Kitongan. During the session, they shared their academic journeys and experiences as international students at Mahidol University.
As part of the program, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sineewanlaya Wichit, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Networking Development and Student Affairs, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, delivered the session “Graduate Studies at Mahidol University & International Student Experiences.” The session provided an overview of graduate admissions, scholarship opportunities, and support services available to international students, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
The MUGR Mini Open House 2026 project was organized in support of Mahidol University’s commitment to internationalization and expanding access to graduate education through online engagement. Through academic exchange, student experiences, and direct interaction with faculty members, the project sought to inspire prospective international students and encourage them to pursue their postgraduate studies at Mahidol University in the future.
