On Saturday, April 4, 2026, the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, organized the “MUGR Webinar: Variable Setting for Social Science Research in the Era of Technologization” via Zoom Meeting. The webinar was conducted as part of the Share & Learn session for postgraduate students, aiming to strengthen research skills in today’s technology-driven landscape.
During this event, Assistant Professor Dr. Sineewanlaya Wichit, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Networking Development and Student Affairs, delivered the opening message.
The session was delivered by Professor Dr. Gazi Mahabubul Alam, Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, who served as the guest speaker. He shared valuable insights on variable setting in social science research, emphasizing its critical role in research design and analytical processes. The session was moderated by Mr. Artney Gacutan Kitongan, a student in the M.Sc. in Pharmacy Program in Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Brand Ambassador of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.
Key topics included the fundamental concepts of variables in social science research, considerations in identifying and defining variables, the application of variable settings across different research methodologies, and the evolution of research approaches in the era of technologization. The session also highlighted how researchers can adapt their research strategies to align with rapid technological advancements.
This webinar provided a valuable opportunity for participants to enhance their understanding of research methodologies and develop more effective approaches to conducting social science research in the digital age. The session attracted approximately 50 participants.
